The RGS describe terms & conditions in relation to:
acting as a storage customer
concluding storage agreements
access to firm and interruptible capacity
various other aspects
Our storage facilities at Lille Torup and Stenlille are part of the Danish natural gas system, which consists of the transmission system, the distribution systems and the gas storage facilities. The RGS must therefore be seen in combination with all relevant network codes and especially the RfG, Rules for Gas Transport, which is the legal framework for the Danish gas market.
The Danish Energy Regulatory Authority (DERA) regulates and supervises the energy sector, including Gas Storage Denmark A/S.
The Act applies to transmission, distribution, supply and storage of natural gas, laying down the framework for a gradual market opening initiated by the reform in 2000 and fully implemented on 1 January 2004.
The goal is to ensure that Danish natural gas supply is planned and carried out in consideration of security of supply, national economy, the environment and consumer protection.
Filling requirements are not mandatory for Gas Storage Denmark
Gas subject to filling requirements is part of a bilateral agreement between the storage customer and the Transmission Service Operator Energinet. As such, Gas Storage Denmark has no part in this voluntary bilateral agreement and does not grant any separate discount for storage agreements subject to filling requirements.
To be subject to filling requirements means that storage customers must always keep a certain quantity of gas in storage during a winter period specified by Energinet.
If Gas Storage Denmark interrupts or reduces the storage customers' nominated or renominated firm capacities more than 336 accumulated hours per storage year (corresponding to 14 gas days) the storage customer is entitled to compensation unless the interruptions are caused by force majeure or related to gas quality or events in the transmission system.
