The current capacity status is as follows:

SY20 (1 May 2020 – 1 May 2021) Prior to 1 May 2020, GSD will assess the gas quality of the Natural Gas currently stored in the storage facilities. Based on the result of this assessment, GSD expects to be able to offer a limited amount of additional storage capacity for delivery in SY20.

SY21 (1 May 2021 – 1 May 2022) The remaining capacity for sale in SY21 is currently 2,809 GWh of which 1,000 GWh are reserved for an auction to be held in Q1 2021. The remaining 1,809 GWh are for sale on bilateral basis.

SY22 and beyond  GSD is open for selling storage capacity on multi-year terms, 3-15 years. Storage Customers interested in long-term storage capacity are invited to contact GSD for bilateral negotiations.

Ongoing assessments of the marketable storage capacity

The average calorific value and compressibility of the Natural Gas stored in the storage facilities of GSD changes as the high calorific Danish Natural Gas already stored is gradually replaced by imported Natural Gas from Europe. This substitution results in changing of the marketable storage capacity, expressed in an equivalent energy unit.

Therefore GSD needs to reassess the marketable storage capacity on regular basis.
