
UPDATE ON STORAGE CAPACITY
Storage capacity for sale in SY20 and beyond
The auction of 1TWh storage capacity for delivery in SY20 closed today 6 February 2020 at 12:00.
GSD is pleased to announce that the auction sold out.
The diagram below illustrates the currently available storage capacities for sale in SY21, SY22 and SY23. The years beyond SY23 are similar to SY23.
As informed on previous occasions, GSD performs assessments of the gas quality of the stored Natural Gas on an ongoing basis. The results of these assessments are used to evaluate and update the marketable storage capacities as appropriate. GSD will continue to inform the market in due time of any capacity update by publishing announcements on this website.
The current capacity status is as follows:
SY20 (1 May 2020 – 1 May 2021) Prior to 1 May 2020, GSD will assess the gas quality of the Natural Gas currently stored in the storage facilities. Based on the result of this assessment, GSD expects to be able to offer a limited amount of additional storage capacity for delivery in SY20.
SY21 (1 May 2021 – 1 May 2022) The remaining capacity for sale in SY21 is currently 2,809 GWh of which 1,000 GWh are reserved for an auction to be held in Q1 2021. The remaining 1,809 GWh are for sale on bilateral basis.
SY22 and beyond GSD is open for selling storage capacity on multi-year terms, 3-15 years. Storage Customers interested in long-term storage capacity are invited to contact GSD for bilateral negotiations.
