Baltic Pipe tie-in work will affect the ability to inject gas in storage

BALTIC PIPE TIE-IN WORK IN THE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM WILL AFFECT TSO’S ABILITY TO DELIEVER GAS TO STORAGE, LIMITING THE INJECTION

3 restriction periods announced by Energinet Gas TSO

With reference to Energinet Gas TSO’s REMIT ID 2986 of today, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the tie-in work on the Baltic Pipe will affect the pressure in the Danish transmission gas system and thereby the ability of the storage facilities of GSD to inject gas.

According to the details given in the REMIT, GSD has been able to calculate the “worst-case” restriction scenarios. Based on that, GSD can guarantee the following minimum availability of the storage customers’ firm injection capacity:

  • 1st period 3-4 weeks in August:        70% of the customers’ firm injection capacity will be available
  • 2nd period 1-2 weeks in September: 56% of the customers’ firm injection capacity will be available
  • 3rd period 1-2 weeks in October:      56% of the customers’ firm injection capacity will be available

Please note that GSD intends to send an information update as soon as Energinet Gas TSO has announced their detailed plan for the impending work. We will follow the situation closely and do our best to limit the impact on the nominated injection during the periods mentioned above.

In addition, storage customers may use interruptible injection capacity during the restriction periods. Used interruptible capacity up to the firm capacity booked by each customer  will be free of charge.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
