REMIT - REDUCED WITHDRAWAL CAPACITY, SY24
1 GW REDUCTION
The available firm VOLUME capacity in SY24 is sold out. The available firm INJECTION capacity in SY24 is only 285 MW. At the same time GSD observes that the demand for firm WITHDRAWAL capacity is lower compared to the demand in earlier years as there are 2,833 MW still available for sale.
Based on this fact, GSD has decided to reserve a part of the redundant WITHDRAWAL capacity for own operational flexibility.
Therefore, starting from 1 April 2024 at 06.00 a.m. to 1 April 2025 at 06.00 a.m. (SY24), GSD will reduce the firm WITHDRAWAL capacity with 1 GW, from 7.5 GW to 6.5 GW. After the reduction, there will be 1,833 MW still available for sale firm WITHDRAWAL capacity.
The reduction will not affect the firm capacities already booked by storage customers.
As a positive side effect, the reduction will improve the already announced WITHDRAWAL RESTRICTIONS in SY24, which will be of advantage to storage customers with booked firm capacity.
